Mini Mahj™

How to Play Mini Mahj

A free daily American Mahjong challenge where every player gets the same tiles, same wall, and same opponents. Here's how it works.

What is Mini Mahj?

Mini Mahj is a daily American Mahjong challenge game. Think of it like Wordle, but for Mahjong lovers. Every day at midnight ET, a new challenge drops. Every player around the world gets the exact same tiles and the exact same wall — so skill is what separates the leaderboard.

You play a streamlined version of American Mahjong against AI opponents, drawing and discarding tiles to build a winning hand. It takes about 5 minutes to play, making it the perfect daily brain teaser.

Meet Your Opponents

Every game you play against the same three AI opponents. Each has her own style — but skill is what decides who wins.

Ivy
Strategic

Ivy

"She remembers every tile you discarded."

Calculated and relentless. Ivy almost never makes a mistake.

Rose
Lucky

Rose

"She always draws exactly what she needs."

Charming and impossibly lucky. Rose is always one tile away from winning.

Lily
Intuitive

Lily

"She plays on vibes and wins on instinct."

Cheerful and free-spirited. Lily doesn't overthink — but she's always close.

How the Daily Challenge Works

Every Mini Mahj challenge uses the same random seed, meaning every player gets an identical setup. The wall (the pool of tiles you draw from) is the same, and the AI opponents make the same decisions. Your choices are what determine the outcome.

New challenges are released daily at midnight Eastern Time. You get one attempt per day — just like Wordle. Miss a day? A fresh challenge is always waiting tomorrow.

Scoring & the Leaderboard

Mini Mahj rewards efficient play. Your score is based on whether you Mahj'd, how quickly you finished, and how few turns it took. Mahj and you'll land on the daily leaderboard.

Top finishers earn special recognition. Share your results with friends — every shared result links back to the day's challenge so they can try it too.

Play with Friends

Mini Mahj Groups lets you create a private leaderboard and invite friends. Everyone plays the same daily puzzle and competes for the top spot. Share the invite link and let the trash talk begin.
